A Little Insight
I first sensed the world of spirit as a child. when I lived in London. One of my first memories was the feeling of being watched. When I ran upstairs I always imagined someone following me. My heart would race, my legs couldn’t go fast enough, I was always looking over my shoulder. Thinking back, I realise it wasn’t my imagination because I really could see someone in my mind and it felt so real.
One of my first encounters was when I was 10 years old.
I was sleeping on the put you up sofa at my uncle’s house. Everyone was in bed when the door opened and I could see the shadow of a spirit man come into the room, shut the door and stand there watching me. I could sense he was not nice. I was really scared and remember praying to my Guardian Angels to look after me, which they, of course, did.
My Dad could see spirit people as if they were solid, living beings. On several occasions my Nan, my Mum’s Mum appeared to him telling him to go home because my Mum, Jane needed his help. He always did as he was told and every time he would find my mother unconscious or in severe pain. My Nan reached out from the spirit world and helped my Mum in many ways and I’m sure she still does to this day.
My Father is given most of the credit for my spiritual gifts but my mother occasionally saw spirit as well.
Once as a teenager in Ireland she took a shortcut through
a field so she wouldn’t be late getting home. It was quickly becoming dark and she panicked, unable to find her way out. All of a sudden her dog, who had passed into spirit a few years previously appeared beside her and led her out of the field and accompanied her until she was almost home. Before she could thank him he disappeared into thin air.
In my early teens I became really interested in the spirit world. I loved Doris Stokes, a marvellous medium, and read all of her books, praying I could be like her. It seemed that all the mediums whose books I read had fantastic visions of dearly loved grandfathers or grandmothers coming to say good bye as they were making their transition into the spirit world. Nothing like that had happened to me so
I thought I could not be a medium and decided to be a pop star instead. Lucky for me that I haven’t got a great singing voice.
My Mum started taking in Mediums from the local Spiritualist churches. They all had plenty of stories to tell about vividly seeing spirit as children, but not one of them told me that everyone has psychic gifts, some just need to work a little harder than others.
For 15 years I played around at meditation and tried just about all the psychic tools available. I started getting messages from seemingly nowhere, especially just before I fell asleep. The people I gave these messages to were shocked and surprised at my accuracy. Realising I must have a gift I began to search in earnest for real spiritual knowledge.
I attended medium development classes and psychic workshops in Bristol, I meditated and learned as much as I could from psychics and mediums. I was more determined than ever to get a strong link with my guides. Eventually, I was introduced to a psychic named Rosina, who constantly took me out of my comfort zone, pushing me to be the best I could be. When she thought I was ready for the Rostrum, she introduced me to Jean Williams, a Bristol Medium. Jean took me with her to demonstrations and let me practice on an audience giving a few messages. On my third outing with her, Jean said ‘Now you are on your own’ and let me take the whole service. Since that day I have never looked back.
Years on and I am still serving at Spiritualist Churches and Centres. I have also worked for audiences of 500 people. I have done readings on international online radio and I have been invited to work abroad. I also teach mediumship at the The Freespirit Awareness centre,
I get great pleasure giving one-to-one readings, helping those who come to me seeking communication with loved ones who have passed over, whether it is in private consultations close to home or on the phone in other parts of the world.
Why do I do it? It’s simple. There is no greater joy than to reunite people with loved ones from the other side, giving them wonderful evidence that there really is life after death. I feel privileged to be able to serve the Divine Spirit, work with my fantastic guides and be a communicator for the spirit world, helping those who grieve to find peace.
Each and every one of us is blessed with gifts from Spirit.
It is up to us as individuals to find out what these gifts may be and to decide how best to serve the Divine Spirit and make our world a better place.
